Outlook did many changes to the contents of the file which broke how it should look on some browsers.
you won't know if the person you are sending this email to is using Outlook or not. so, safe your self from falling in this problem by zipping your attached HTML files.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-05-30T13:45:39Z</dcterms:modified>

Why Twitter ?!

I was always wandering why some people were Twittering while they are in conferences and sessions. first for who don't know what I mean of Twittering . Twittering in our situation is the act of adding contents to your account on Twitter.com . Twitter.com cares about what you are doing now. you can use this website to tell the others about what you are doing at this moment. after getting your twitter account, you will be able to log your life moment by moment. I can call this "the more detailed blogging".

an entry in your twitter page can look like that

I'm eating

it was a long day I will go to sleep

heading to the work
watching the movie "300"
walking with my dog
waiting my stupid girlfriend in the street and it's snowing now . [if I were you, I won't write that in public]

like what you noticed. all the entries are very short and just makes your friends updated about what you are doing now. they got an RSS feeds too. also, you can follow others and you will get notified on your IM or Mobile whenever they add new entries.

this looked stupid for me too at the beginning, but I liked it when I found a useful use of it.

Cal Evans wrote at the end of a blog post on Zend's DevZone that he will be Twittering about what's happening in the MySQL conference. I thought that this can be a good chance for me to know the difference between twittering live from a conference and live blogging.
like what I expected, the entries were small and descriptive. this can give you fast notes about what's happening their at this time and URLs of the slids. you will feel like you are there but not totally. if you want the full information, you will have to wait till someone writes a blog post about what happened.

it's cool anyway and I like it. I have added a small twitter widget to this blog, that's will show you what I'm doing now. also, if you want to follow me on Twitter.com you will find me here.

the genius guys at JoyOfTech.com made a funny thing before about twitter that you will love to see or maybe, learn from :D

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-04-28T04:39:02Z</dcterms:modified>

Darabet.com : another arabic version of Digg.com

While I was reading one of the arabic blogs, I found this website ( Darabet ) which implements the same Digg.com idea. maybe you know that there is another arabic website with the same idea called Wapher. it's a good thing that you can choose your preferred one.

I can't comment on Wapher as it's still beta like what's written on it's logo. Darabet didn't write that 'beta' word, so I guess that it should be fully working now. if you are a web developer or designer, maybe you love to "view source" every cool website you see. the guys working on Darabet got a good html structure and used some best practices. I can guess that this is ASP.net doing the server side work. the graphics can be optimized to be smaller in size and a Web2.0ish touch won't be a bad idea. on the other hand, this website got some little security problems. I sent them my notes so maybe this things will be fixed soon.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-04-08T12:13:33Z</dcterms:modified>

getting a nice jabber client

Today and like most of the days in the last month, I used to meeting some of the Zend Framework guys in a chat room on the framework's chat server. they are using a open source chat server named Wildfire which supports the XMPP(Jabber) protocol. so connecting to this server will require some special chat client.
It was my first time to know about the Jabber protocol and as a first step, I had to search for a good client to work with it. my first try was with a client named Pandion . I was working with Pandion for a month till this morning when I decided getting a better client. Pandion wasn't bad, but I wanted something can connect to many servers in the same time.
Also, Google Talk can be accessed using any Jabber/XMPP client. so it will be nice if I can be connected to GTalk while connected to other servers too using one program (I hate managing all this chat clients). there is a list of good clients listed in GTalk's FAQ.
Now my new client is Psi . it supports connecting to many servers, very light weight , user friendly Interface, memory friendly and supports many platforms. I like it, maybe this is the best and the only one that supports connecting to many servers in the same time.

Okay enough, I'm hungry. I will go get something to eat.
c ya

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-11-24T15:47:25Z</dcterms:modified>

IE7 is here

I have installed the new IE7 hour ago. allot of new features where added but the best thing is how the space is organized.

IE7 is nice but I had to get back to FF. the reason is that I can't get my eyes comfortable with IE7's blury effect and brightness. I'm using a FF extension called IE Tab , I think that you will love it if you are using FF as your main browser.

Another thing, I want to quote from Kevin Yank's comment on this post :

As web developers, we don’t have the luxury of picking our favourite browser

and ignoring the rest. I think it’s safe to say that Firefox and its kin will remain popular

among developers, but IE7 is a new platform we must deal with, regardless of whether

or not it has a Linux version or mouse gestures.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-10-20T02:36:25Z</dcterms:modified>

my free time

Hi,
at first I wish you all muslims a happy Ramadan (Ramadan Kreem ).
I didn't post any thing here since my post about the travel to cairo. maybe I didn't post any thing as I didn't find what can be posted, but I got an intersting thing which I will tell you about at the end of this post.
but before that I want to tell you that I have decided changing my main e-mail to a new Gmail account. I had one before on Gmail but this is a new one which give the official feeling (mail me to send it to you).

after comming back from cairo I have got a lot of free time. so I started planning what will I do in that time. doing business and studing programming , math and physics were the first things in my list and I was thinking too about contributing in any good open source project to learn that something that's we hear alot in the arabic forums "working in group".
I tryed many times to find a way to work in group but always my problem was finding that group. even when I worked in companies (2 companies) I was the only programmer.
this made search for a project which already exists and I can contribute in it. I have subscriped before in the ZendFramework mailinglist and I have seen that they were searching for new contributers to help in the project so I started to read the contents of the project's wiki to know more about the project and how can I contribute in that project.
after reading alot of pages there I got that I won't be able to contribute as a developer in the project as I'm not used to the process of development and how the already finished parts of the project work.
so I did a plan which can help me to get used to the development process and can help me to understand all the project. the first thing was contributing to the documentation team there which can make me focus on every thing in the project and then I will be able to contribute as a developer in one the componenets there -In Sha' ALLAH -.
I was invited too by Thomas Weidner the project coordinator for the Locale I18N Team and member of the german translation team to help in the localization component. you know, I'm the only arabic guy there - hehe :D
I was approved today as a contributer in the project and got my SVN access today (I think learning SVN wasn't that lose of time ). now I'm working on the translation of the documentaion to arabic, you can say that this is an easy thing but after one day of work on that part I can say that I have learnt new things about how to create a real documentation and the guys in the Docs team are so helpful.
okay, this is a long post I think. I told you that I will tell you about an intersting thing at the end of the post.
I was praying AL-Esha' today in the mosque and when I came back I found someone leaving me a message on the messenger which says :
[start]
1- open the notepad.
2- write "Bush hides the facts" in notepad (ps:without the quotes).
3- save the file.
4- close the file and reopen it again.
[end]
I did what he said and when I reopened the file I didn't find the sentence "Bush hides the facts" in the file. insted I found this words.
畂桳栠摩獥琠敨映捡獴
yes, it look like a chinees words . I couldn't know why this happened .
I tryed to translate it by the google translate service [Chinees to English Beta], I got some words which I couldn't understand. maybe I will try to ask any chinees guy about its meaning.

that's all what I have in my pocket at this time,
c u later (صياماً مقبولاً و<s>زمبا</s> ذنباً مغفوراً إن شاء الله)

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-10-02T00:14:39Z</dcterms:modified>

Smile with Technology (3)

I like it when I write about cmoics !!! ^_*
ps:this images best viewed with FireFox.

c ya :D

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-07-14T01:00:03Z</dcterms:modified>

Arabic Google Translator - Beta (arabic)

مش عارف هى فعلا جديدة ولا عشان انا مش بدخل على النت كتير اليومين دول فبقت الأخبار عندى قديمة

- "When I was a teenager, Mom said I'd go blind if I didn't quit doing *that*. Maybe she was right— since the invention of internet porn, computer monitors keep getting bigger and bigger!" ~ Bill Ervin

- "Computer programming is tremendous fun. Like music, it is a skill that derives from an unknown blend of innate talent and constant practice. Like drawing, it can be shaped to a variety of ends – commercial, artistic, and pure entertainment. Programmers have a well-deserved reputation for working long hours but are rarely credited with being driven by creative fevers. Programmers talk about software development on weekends, vacations, and over meals not because they lack imagination, but because their imagination reveals worlds that others cannot see." - Larry O’Brien and Bruce Eckel in Thinking in C#
